i have a new found respect for bruce almighty it has many applicable layers well done director five points.
went to see delirious? tonight was pretty epic havnt seen them outside of soul survivor and it was mega weird half seeing a band as a band and half praisin the lord plus you get the whole man everyone here is a christian so how polite do i ahve to be in terms of moving towards the front.
so is it true today? that when people pray well see dead men rise well see the blind set free? probably the most epic song of my youth i would heartedly sing it but i prob didnt think about whether i actually believed it.
plus there was a song about the king of fools and as i am a daughter of the king of fools i guess that makes me a fool? sounds about right
we always used to watch Bruce Almighty in youth church :D
seem to like The Lovely Bones on tumblr. I have to confess Ibegan reading (must’ve been a fair few years ago now) but never finished. To me it was boring and self-indulgent, I actually can’t remember it very well, I just remember thinking that if Heaven is just a bunch of clouds, a swing and you alone then it’s rubbish.
So yeah, sorry, just one of those books that I don’t understand why everyone likes it. Every one’s different I guess.
I, being born a woman and distressed By all needs and notions of my kind, Am urged by your propinquity to find Your person fair, and feel a certain zest To bear your body’s weight upon my breast: So subtly is the fume of life designed, To clarify the pulse and cloud the mind, And leave me once again undone, possessed. Think not for this, however, the poor treason Of my stout blood against my staggering brain, I shall remember you with love, or season My scorn with pity,-let me make it plain: I find this frenzy insufficient reason For conversation when we meet again.
- Edna St. vincent Millay, 1923
I love this sonnet is so brilliant, the last two lines always make me smile so much, what a brilliant biting insult. Kapow! Go Edna!
“That corpse you planted last year in your garden,
“Has it begun to sprout? Will it bloom this year?
“Or has the sudden frost disturbed its bed?
“Oh keep the Dog dar hence, that’s friend to men,
“Or with his nail he’ll dig it up again!
“You! hypocrite lecteur! -mon semblable, -mon frère!”— The Waste Land ll. 71-6
“Full fathom five thy father lives;
Of his bones are coral made;
Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea change
Into something rich and strange.
Sea Nymphs hourly ring his knell:
Hark! Now I hear them - ding-dong bell.”— The Tempest I.ii.396-405
