Quilted Cushion
A little project for the weekend! Super easy to make, I used left over fabrics from my quilt plus an Ikea fabric I’ve had for ages for the back. There’s no fastening, I just left plenty of overlap on the back, but you could easily add a button if you wanted. All hand sewn (of course) I really need to get a sewing machine for my flat!

For once I saw something awesome on tumblr and had a go at making one myself!
Things I learnt along the way:
1) Don’t try to skip having to back the pockets! I tried to attached the pocket bit straight onto the backing fabric that would be glued onto the book, of course this meant the fabric all rucked up so I had to cut it off and attached it to another piece of fabric. Which I tried to cunningly disguise with use of big embroidery thread stitches…
2) Definitely a good idea to keep the brushes/pencils in while plcae you work to hold the shape
3) It really would have been much simpler to own a sewing machine, hand sewing is not ideal for this kind of thing!
Another picture of my finished quilt, I can’t help it I’m so proud!
Finished quilt, hand sewn in just over a year.
I finished my quilt! Entirely hand sewn in just over a year.
Done about half of the quilting now, I think this is almost my favourite part of making a quilt, it’s very relaxing and relatively quick to do!
The quilting is coming along.
