Hello, what's this?

Reader, sewer, gamer, painter, watcher of television and films, not quite succeeding at any of them (except maybe the tv and films bit) but trying.
Michael Fassbender revelation of the day (well to me at least): He was Azazeal in the awful brilliant mediocre short-lived “Hex” that I used to watch in secret back in the day and had forgotten about.

He’s just got a nice face ok?

Dear Mr. BBC please explain how Snog Marry Avoid is a “Factual” programme.

Whether you’re a feminist or a fangirl or you just like to learn, these six “Tropes vs Women” episodes of Feminist Frequency are absolutely fascinating. Host Anita Sarkeesian makes sure you’ll never look at entertainment the same way.

Watch:

These are all really interesting.

They’re so cute together, what’s she doing with Dominic West? How could you turn down Ben Wilshaw’s skinny little frame?

I’m catching up with Fringe (it’s a great show, mainly ‘cos of Olivia’s character). I’ve just finished Season 2 and I found it very funny that Olivia had to give herself a fringe at one point, a FRINGE, geddit, cos the show is called FRINGE….
hilarious, I know. But I suppose this was lost on the Americans as don’t they call a fringe, a fringe, they call them bangs or something crazy like that?
I’ve said the word fringe too much now…

Fingersmith (2005)
If you’re at all into period pieces, you should definitely watch this film. It’s brilliantly plotted and even more brilliantly acted - some of you might know Sally Hawkins from the BBC adaptation of Persuasion, and she’s just as good here if not better. Add onto that Elaine Cassidy’s incredibly nuanced performance and a tenderly crafted relationship between the two leads (that is never portrayed in a gratuitous or voyeuristic way), and you have an effective and heartrending romantic drama.

I need to watch this. If you haven’t read the book (by Sarah Waters) DO SO NOW, it’s like reading a sensational Victoria novel but with genius modern plotting and language. Next on my reading list is The Night Watch in preparation for the new BBC drama.

Not gonna lie the trailer for New Girl made me laugh, Zooey Deschanel is just too funny but the premise that that loser guy in the apartment dumped her is perhaps a little too far fetched… Sure she looks clumsy, a bit dorky and sings to herself (is there ever a time when Deschanel DOESN’T sing on screen?) but she still looks like she does and is obviously nice…

Anyway I’ll watch it now that all my other shows have come to an end, plus it’s got Leo in it from Veronica Mars!
